Excitement was in the air on Halloween Day as the St. Gregory students came to school in their Halloween costumes and participated in a dance in the school gym.

The St. Gregory the Great staff joined the staff of St. Clare on Friday, October 28 in a mass lead by Fr. Julien at St. Clare Church. Afterward, St. Gregory staff reconvened at the school to engage in a community building garden planting. Teaching is like gardening. On Friday, October 21st our cross country team ended their run for this season competing in the Regional Meet at Bruce’s Mill.  Ten students from our team of 66, qualified for the final meet.  Conditions were probably the most unfavourable in recent years: cold, rain, wind….and mud! A Rube Goldberg machine is a contraption, invention, device, or apparatus that is deliberately over-engineered to perform a simple task in a complicated fashion, generally including a chain reaction. Our grade 8s recently had a chance to make their own machine out of everyday materials as a culminating task on their unit on structures.
