Shoebox Charity & Toy Drive

Christmas is a time of great celebration and giving. We are proud to announce that our SGG Student Government will champion two initiatives with our student body supporting local community members in need of Christmas cheer and charity.

Shoebox Project Charity

SGG has proudly supported this charity in the past. The Shoebox Project Charity distributes gifts to homeless women and women at-risk. Students and families are welcome to bring in single items from the list below and/or fill a wrapped/decorated shoebox and drop that off in bins located in the front foyer. At the end of the drive, a member of our Catholic School Council will deliver the items as required. If families choose to donate a complete shoebox, please consider including a greeting card with a supportive message of hope for the person receiving the gift.

Here’s how it works:

  • Bring items individual items and/or fill 1 or more shoeboxes (complete shoeboxes to value about $50/box)
  • All items must be new and unused

Holiday Heroes Toy Drive – 25th Anniversary

Each year York Region Police invites schools to partner in support of families in need. With Christmas quickly approaching, YRP depends on donors like us to make their campaign a success. This year the SGG community will donate new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages in our community. We will have a Christmas tree set up in our foyer where students can drop off toys for gifting to another child.

Both of these initiatives run from November 22nd to December 15th, 2021. We thank you in advance for your ongoing generosity and support as we seek to help those in need in our community. It is in giving that we receive. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
